Mills Messenger - October 21, 2018

Greetings Mountain Lions!

Months of planning and a week of intense weather-watching paid off, and we had a Magnificent Fall Festival. Thank you so much to everyone who attended the Mountain Lion Event of the Year!

Allow me to introduce our Fall Festival Team: Jinny Suh, Jenny Chang, Stephenie Boren, Jessica Riggs, Courtney Goodings, Stephanie MacKay, Erin Chichester, Victoria Wetherington, Jessica Cotsonas, Brea Barner, Kathy Adelson, Jen Zukauskas, Sindhi Singh and Rachelle Wittek. If you see these ladies around the school, please be sure to stop and thank them for all the hard work they poured in to this event. A special thank you to Megan Hoenig. Megan was not supposed to chair this event (while still preforming her presidential duties), but she did, and she did such an amazing job! Thank you to Mrs. Beachum and Mrs. Jetton – we appreciate their encouragement and support so much!

Thank you to our Sponsors – your support to our school means the world to us. Our Sponsors are: Modern Family Dentistry, Mr. Dream Home, We Rock the Spectrum, Kuk Sool Won, Petite Dental, OrangeTheory, Epic Fun, National Elite, Emler Swim School, AT&T, Austin Yard Cards and Christian Automotive.

Parent Workshop: Creatively Connecting with Your Child and Increasing Cooperation

Creative Action has partnered with Mills for programs like Courage to Stand (4th grade) and Courage in Action (5th grade) and has named us a Brave School. Because Mills is a Brave School, we have opportunities to participate in their community events.

Creative Action will be hosting a parent workshop at Becker Elementary from 5:30 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 27th. This workshop is for YOU, the parent. The goal of this workshop is to provide opportunities for parents to connect, reflect and learn from each other. You will brainstorm and strengthen your toolkit for responding to tricky moments when you struggle with gaining cooperation from your child. If you need to bring your children, we will provide childcare, and pizza will be provided for all. If you plan to bring your child(ren), be sure to RSVP for child ticket(s) as well as your adult ticket.
