Clubs and Activities

Mills proudly sponsors several clubs and special activities throughout the school year.

Chess Club: The Mill’s Chess Club meets every Tuesday afternoon from 2:45 – 4:00 in the Gym.  The first meeting of the Chess Club is Tuesday, September 19.  The final meeting/GattiTown Party is Tuesday, April 24.  The Chess Club is open to all girls and boys in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5.  Beginners, intermediate, and advanced players are welcome.  There is a $75 fee for Chess Club members, which will pay for a t-shirt, end of the year party, equipment replacement, name tags, dog tags, tournament trophies, etc. Chess Club web page.

Math Pentathlon: If you are looking for a fun and exciting way to involve your child in mathematics, check out Mills Math Pentathlon Club! Using a game format, students with a broad range of abilities develop logical, computational and spatial reasoning skills. Within each division, children will learn 5 different games designed by the Math Pentathlon Institute. This club meets after school on Wednesdays. Robotics:  We’re a parent- and teacher-sponsored, non-profit, after-school program for 2nd-3rd graders. Our mission is to get kids excited about science & technology using LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robotics kits.  All student are welcome to apply.  For more information, see the Robotics Club web page.

MASCOT Program:  MASCOT is an extended child-care program for Mills students. For more details on the MASCOT program, please see the Mills AISD after-school programs page.
